Reveal Your Inner Picasso With Da Vinci Emily Furniture

Create the nursery of your dreams can be easy with pieces from the Da Vinci Emily furniture range and watch your nursery come alive with warmth.

  • Which color will make the room a standout?
White is a beautiful classic theme for your nursery. Experiment with matching furniture and colorful bedding for a winning combination.

I love soft pastel greens, pinks and pansy blues for girls. Complete the look with some matching bedding fabrics. Stick to two or three of these colors for a repetitive theme throughout.

For boys, go for a modern look with some favourite Disney characters. Accessorise with bedding, soft toys or pictures. These beautiful bright bold colors give the room a modern out of the box feel.

  • Gender neutral can be fabulous!

Paint the walls a light shade in a neutral color, a gender neutral color is a good choice when you are planning additional children. The new baby's room can be jazz up with either pink or blue accessories each time.

There are plenty of beautiful framed prints around to brighten up the walls and a stuffed animal perch can be a nice addition. Fastened a white shelf to the wall and create a colourful eye catcher with their teddies. Dress up the window with white venetian blinds and side drapes in your chosen color theme. The white venetians gives the room a clean, crisp modern air.

The Davinci Kalani Crib in Espresso - A Mother's Opinion

Purchasing the Davinci Kalani crib in Espresso for your nursery will give the room a timeless quality. The espresso polished wood gives your baby's room a modern look and the sleigh rails create an old fashioned, understated elegance.

What special design feature is childproof?

One of the stand out features of this crib is the static side. No moving parts in this crib, equals no squashed fingers. A 4-level mattress system is used and can be lowered as your baby grows. This spring system technology is a better design than some slat systems, as it has a 4 height setting adjustment, allowing even the smallest adult to customise in a matter of minutes.

Like a lot of other cribs with polished finishes scratches can occur, care needs to be taken when assembling and a teething rail is recommended for the toddler stages. This crib has a non toxic and formaldehyde-free finish and is assembled in the United States. It is JPMA approved and exceeds all US safety standards.

The major difference between this crib and the Emily Da Vinci is the exclusion of the gap between the top and middle rails. The solid ridged sides provide protection from little legs and arms getting stuck. This small difference in design eliminates the risk of limb entanglement and I believe make this a stand out model in terms of safety. Parents can sleep easy knowing they will not wake to the distressed cries of their child in the middle of the night.

The day bed and full bed configuration option that this crib offers, meets the needs of your baby's nursery, graduating to the toddler stage and beyond. Now that is value for money!

Davinci Cribs - 7 Top Tips

Anastasia Cherry

Putting together Davinci cribs can be an overwhelming experience. Read on to avoid all the pitfalls and find out all the tips, to make this experience an exciting journey to have together, before the big arrival.

Check all the parts are included and there are no shipping defects.
Careful inspection upon arrival is vital. Spend some time to inspect all the parts and hardware while they are still in the box. If parts are missing, it should be repacked and returned immediately. Returns are not accepted on assembled cribs, so double check before you put it together.
Read the instructions.
Assembly instructions are normally tucked away under the springs or frame of the mattress. Reading the instructions from start to finish. It's a great way to get an overall feel of how the crib will be pieced together.
Print out a picture for easy reference.
Some of the pieces aren't labelled, so set up a picture of the finished product from the net. This visible reference reduces confusion as to which way each piece should face.
Visible bolt holes dilemma.
Bolt plugs are not included for a good reason, it is a chocking risk. A permanent marker in the same colour as your crib can camouflage these holes and blend in with the finish.
What about the scratches?
Scratches are a problem in most wooden cribs. Be careful when assembling as this is the time that scratches and indentations can occur when the wood pieces are handled and manipulated.
Don't get carried away with the screwdriver.
Avoid over tightening the bolts as the wood can crack and the crib will be extremely hard to take apart when configuring to other bed options. I would recommend using a manual screwdriver.

Is it a two person job?
An extra pair of hands not only makes the job faster and less stressful, it can be shared as the joy of accomplishing this project together.
